Sending Light

"When the night has come, and the land is dark, and the moon is the only light you see..." 

One of the hardest things in life is to witness the suffering of our loved ones when there isn't anything we can do to relieve their pain.  In those moments, may we lean in -- without the urge to fix -- and offer to sit with them in the dark. May they know that they don't have to package their pain to be digestible for others.  That they can be as they are, having a safe space to fully feel their feelings, without judgement or expectation that healing should come on a given timeline.  May we practice grace.  Gentleness. Care.  May we embrace them in full, broken pieces and all.  May we find our humanity in each other, sharing our darkness and our light.
